I need to get back to blogging. I miss the writing and documenting time. My dear friend over at Oh Smudge has posted “Happiness is…” posts each Saturday in the past, and it’s something I want to try. I’ve been wallowing in a combination of busy momma/not enough me time/self-pity junk lately, and it’s time to snap out of it and appreciate what is. It’s a wonderful life, really. But life with little ones (and a teen and tween and husband) can be wonderfully hard at times too. The hustle and bustle of keeping a home running, with everything in it’s place and hungry bellies fed and tired minds rested is a big job! Say nothing of laundry, cleaning, appointments, etc.
This photo isn’t high quality, but it was the snapshot that spurred me to start documenting a grateful thought each day. On this day, Monday, I finally gave in and rested with my little one because sometimes that is simply what he seems to crave. Just being CLOSE. I had been hustling and bustling and didn’t feel like I had time to lose this day. But as soon as I got settled in, I knew it was the best thing for both of us, and my whole household. It calmed and soothed my mind and his too. And I was grateful.
My daily grateful thoughts this week:
…baby snuggles/nap that reset both of our moods.
…sugar levels well within perfect range at my 2 month postpartum doctor visit!
….dinner prep done before noon.
…5,000 steps in before noon.
…SNOW!
…Saturday errands that my husband runs for our household.
